housing sales in Turkey decreased by 5.3% compared to the same month of the previous year in the month of March 2019 was 105 046. In housing sales, İstanbul 19 had the highest share with 140 house sales and 18.2%. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 10 619 house sales and 10.1% share, and İzmir with 6 366 house sales and 6.1% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 5 houses, Ardahan with 7 houses and Bayburt with 27 houses.

Mortgage sales were 22 762 in March 2019

Across Turkey mortgage sales decrease ratio of 30.6% compared to the same month of the previous year was 22 762. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 21.7%. In mortgaged sales, İstanbul took the first place with 3 462 house sales and 15.2% share. Among the total house sales, Artvin had the highest share of mortgaged sales with 50%.

82 284 properties changed hands as a result of other types of sales

Other housing sales in Turkey increased by 5.3% compared to the previous year same the month was 82 284. In other house sales, İstanbul ranked first with 15 678 house sales and 19.1% share. The share of other sales in total housing sales in Istanbul was 81.9%. Ankara ranked second with 7 620 other housing sales. Ankara was followed by İzmir with 5 035 housing sales. The province with the least other house sales was Hakkari with 4 houses.

44 163 housing units sold for the first time

Turkey compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of homes sold decreased 12.9% for the first time in general was 44 163. The share of initial sales in total house sales was 42%. Istanbul had the highest share in the first sales with 8 453 house sales and 19.1%, followed by Ankara with 3 553 house sales and İzmir with 2 884 house sales.

60 883 properties changed hands for second hand housing sales

second-hand housing sales in Turkey was 60_883 increase of 1.1% compared to the same month of the previous year. In second hand sales, Istanbul ranked first with 10 687 sales and 17.6% share. Secondhand sales accounted for 55.8% of total residential sales in Istanbul. Ankara ranked second with 7 066 housing sales. Ankara was followed by Antalya with sales of 3 506 houses.

In March 2019, 3 129 homes were sold to foreigners.

Housing sales to foreigners increased by 71.3% to 3 129 compared to the same month of the previous year. In March 2019, Istanbul ranked first in the sales of housing to foreigners with 1 520 housing sales. Istanbul was followed by Antalya with 626 sales, Ankara with 173 sales, Bursa with 121 sales and Yalova with 110 sales.

According to the nationality of the country, the highest number of homes sold to Iraqi citizens

Iraqi citizens in March bought 548 from Turkey. Iraq was followed by Iran with 334 houses, Saudi Arabia with 189 houses, Russian Federation with 156 houses and Afghanistan with 150 houses.
